Phone Charges for Internet Usage
| In many countries
local telephone calls must be paid for, and being as ISP providers use local calls rates
on the telephone network to access their services, we the public who use the system find
that the internet - which is supposed to be a free medium - can be become quite an
expensive hobby due the seconds ticking away while on-line. That fact also puts many
people off from getting connected in the first place, meaning all our internet efforts
reach less people. I fully understand the concerns of many people that if internet connections were free, some idiots would remain connected without ever switching off, which would of course slow down traffic tremendously and over-burden the system, which is why I propose that telephone services should perhaps offer, say two or three free hours over a weekend, which would be enough time to allow most internet addicts to get a weekly fix, without it costing an arm and a leg. Telecommunication companies such as British Telecom make such vast profits that they could easily do something like that, without it noticing too much in their account books. |

| I totally agree that with it's obscene profits BT could easily afford to allow some measure of free local calls, but somehow I doubt that they will ever come round to that way of thinking. My own pet system would be if BT would allow free local calls to the same value (or more likely, amount of time) as the charged calls on each bill before charging for local calls (this is not what I would WANT, more what I think might be possible). |

surfer who reviewed this site. We are always pleased to hear your opinions on our efforts. We agree that this site is a good idea, however as for the the site having 'gone to waste' due to its not being updated regularly: The idea of this site is to give internet surfers the opportunity to say what they like about any subject they like, and the site is updated everytime we receive something to place on it. Therefore the frequency of updates is entirely dependant on how often we receive something to place on the site. Therefore, if YOU the surfer, wish the site to be updated more often then simply send your opinions to us more often. Remember, we will place ANY opinion (within the law) on this page in your own unabridged words, so let us have your opinions and tell your friends about this site. |
